In late June 2025, I visited five Southeast Asian countries, including Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. I flew to Kuala Lumpur International Airport from Bangkok, Thailand, and it probably took only about 1 or 2 hors. The KLIA was a really nice airport, and I love it. If someone asked me which airport is the best, I’d say KLIA is the best airport for now. I’m not sure how to explain its charm, but it’s an exciting airport with a wide variety of restaurants and shops. I used the airport three times, but every time I visited it, I enjoyed staying there.
When it comes to transportation in Southeast Asian countries, you might think of Grab. Of course, you can use it in Malaysia. It is really useful, and I used it a lot.
The main tourist spots in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where I visited
Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia, an international city. It is a fascinating city known as the economic hub of Southeast Asia. Its population is approximately 1.8 million people, and it is a multi-ethnic nation with Malay, Chinese, and Indian origins.
Below is the Google Maps link of the places I visited in Kuala Lumpur.
1. Masjid Putra
It is well known as the Pink Mosque, which is entirely pink. Its interior was also completely pink. You can enter for free.
This was my first time visiting a Mosque, so I was moved by that architecture. One of the women staff members guided me inside it and kindly explained about the Mosque. It was a really valuable experience. Also, when I looked for a shop to buy a bottle of water, she brought it from her office and gave it to me for free.
There is the Prime Minister’s Office near the Mosque, and it was also a beautiful building.

Here is the Google Maps for the Pink Mosque.
2. Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan
The second place I visited was Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan. This was also one of the most magnificent mosques in Malaysia. It had a beauty and atmosphere quite different from the Pink Mosque. Of course, you can enter for free.

Below is the Google Maps for the Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan.
3. National Mosque of Malaysia
The next mosque I visited was the National Mosque of Malaysia. Since the mosque is located in the center of the city, it’s easy to go to. The top of the building was not spherical, and its architectural style differed from the mosques I had seen before. But it was a very beautiful mosque, and inside it was also gorgeous.

4. Petronas Twin Towers
This gleaming building is the Petronas Twin Towers, which are the largest twin towers in the world. It’s outstanding in the buildings in Kuala Lumpur, and many people were visiting and taking photos of it.

Below is the Google Maps for the Petronas Twin Towers.
5. Other places
Other places I visited are listed below.
- National Palace Photo Point
- Central Market
- Merdeka Square
- Sultan Abdul Samad Jamek Mosque
- Sri Maha Mariamman Temple
- Menara Kuala Lumpur
If you want to shop or eat something, I recommend visiting Merdeka Square. And, if you want to see the beautiful night views of Kuala Lumpur, you should go to Menara Kuala Lumpur.
I stayed only one day, but there are many tourist spots in Kuala Lumpur, so I didn’t have enough time to sightsee around. Even so, I had a great time because I got to see so many nice places.

Oh, and for dinner, I ate this. I don’t know the name of the food, but it was really good. The chicken was so crunchy, and the other foods were a little spicy and good. I don’t remember the price, but it was very cheap.

Here is the restaurant I visited. The staff was kind, and the food was good, so if you’re unsure which restaurant to go to, I really highly recommend this one.
